It's both familiar and new as you see Hornet dash toward enemies and thwack them apart. It opens on Hornet and immediately bursts into action.

The debut trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong still sells it best. You can pick quests up from NPCs and track their progress via notice boards.Ĭheck out Hollow Knight: Silksong's debut trailer Silksong will have a quest system divided into four categories: Gather, Wayfarer, Hunt, and Grand Hunt. Both are earned from caches and killing enemies, although Rosaries can be lost on death unless you put them on a string. Shell Shards are used to repair and craft tools. Silksong introduces two new currencies: Shell Shards and Rosaries. The game follows Hornet as they ascend the kingdom of Pharloom, in contrast to The Knight descending Hallownest.Hornet uses tools, like bombs and a spiked ball, instead of charms. When you die, you'll drop a bundle of silk and have to destroy it when you return to replenish your supply. Hornet uses silk instead of Souls to heal and use abilities.Hornet has a lot more movement abilities like dashing and sprinting, and she can heal faster than The Knight. You play as Hornet instead of The Knight from Hollow Knight.Silksong carries those ideas forward, but with some specific changes to the way the original game worked. Some have called it a Souls-like for its challenging boss fights and how you recover items from the spot you died. Hollow Knight: Silksong is a sequel to Hollow Knight, 2017's side-scrolling action RPG. Alternatively, we could hear about the game at Geoff Keighley's Summer Games Fest. With E3 2022 in flux, it's likely we'll see news from Team Cherry when it's ready to share some. In the past, Hollow Knight: Silksong news has come from both the developer itself and E3. With 120Hz TVs getting more common in the near future, I think this is one of the most exciting upgrades we can look forward to.(Image credit: Team Cherry) When will we hear more about Hollow Knight: Silksong? Have anyone else got a similar experience with a game? In general, I think indie platformers can benefit a lot from 120FPS on next gen consoles, and I also think those are the kind of games we realistically can expect to support this feature. Playing at hight framerates is nothing new to me (I've owned a 144Hz PC monitor for a couple of years), but this is the first time framerate has mattered this much to me.

I use both my Switch and my PC with the same TV (LG C9), but I even tried Switch in handheld mode, and I kept performing much worse when playing on Switch. The difference in input response is remarkable. I actually just fired up the Switch version again - and man. The only thing that is different now is that I'm playing the PC version with unlocked framerate at a 120HZ display.

I'm not sure how to measure progress in this game as I understand it is somewhat less linear than most Metroidvanias, but I've just gotten the Shade Cloak ability, and I've only died twice. Suddenly, I was able to afford the compass and pretty much all of the map pins within probably an hour or so. A couple of days ago, I noticed that Hollow Knight was included with Game Pass on PC and decided to give it another go. I tried starting the game over twice at different points, but I died all the time, and could never even get enought money to buy the compass.

To be frank, the problem was that I sucked at the game. So I bought Hollow Knigh for Switch a while ago, but I never got into it.
